Hello everyone! For today’s post, I wanted to write about my favorite glosses since it seems like they have been my go-to recently because of the cold weather. Matte lips are just a little too drying for me during this season. I have a mixture of high end and drugstore glosses so I figured it would be a good range. So, if you’re interested in seeing what glosses I recommend, just keep reading!
I know I just recently bought this but I am already loving it. It’s such a comfortable gloss that stays on for so long. This is the Flower Cosmetics Mix N’ Matte Lip Duo in Honey Nude ($10). The gloss is more of a slight metallic look but it’s not extreme at all. I have swatches posted here. I really love the color because it is a nice deep nude for the winter. It goes with every look! I hope to get more shades soon.
Next is the Colourpop X Kathleen Lights Ultra Glossy Lip in Moon Child ($6). I only have one other gloss from Colourpop but now that I have tried this one, I like it more. This gloss has a nude sheen to it with tiny gold glitter. Luckily, you can’t feel the glitter once it is on your lips. I like this because of the shade. When it shines in the light, it looks gorgeous! The color is a cool toned light pink that looks perfect on lighter skin tones. I haven’t seen anyone with a darker complexion but I’m sure it would be a great nude as well!
This gloss is a very affordable one! It’s the NYX Butter Gloss in Creme Brûlée ($5). This is probably the first gloss I ever bought. I heard such good things about it all over youtube so once I got one, I fell in love. I also got a darker shade in Angel Food Cake; I think that’s the name. I really recommend these as a product to keep in your purse. They’re small and have a good amount of pigment to them to where they’ll stay on for a couple hours. I think they’re really great for the price and huge shade selection!
This next gloss is an extremely raved about one. It is the Marc Jacobs Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer Lipgloss in Taboo ($28). I know, the price is pretty high but you definitely get what you pay for. This gloss has lasted 7 months and it was used basically every day. Marc Jacobs is one of the few high end brands that’s actually cruelty free so I love to support them. Jaclyn Hill has talked about this gloss a lot so when I got it, I definitely saw what she was talking about. It’s just a great formula that isn’t sticky and stays on for so long. If you want to splurge a little, I definitely think you should try out this formula!
I’ve talked about this lipgloss sooo much but it’s worth it! I am obsessed with this gloss. It is the C.O. Bigelow Vanillamint Supreme Lip Shine ($7.50). This is literally the best clear gloss ever. I wear it every morning and night, and when I don’t really want to wear a lip product, I just put this on and I’m good to go. It really moisturizes the lips for such a long time. I have nothing bad to say about this and I would truly recommend this to everybody!
Lastly, this is a gloss that I have also mentioned quite a bit on my blog. This is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss in Kristen ($16). This is probably the most pigmented gloss of all of these. If you want basically a lipstick with shine, get this. There is no “wash of color” when it comes to this. It is super opaque on the lips and lasts forever. It does come off when you eat/drink but I think all glosses do. So, if you want a completely covered glossy lip, get this one!
That’s all for my favorite lip glosses! Since it’s the colder months, I think glosses are the best for it. I have started to like them more than matte lipsticks just because of how comfortable they are. If you have any recommendations for other glosses, let me know! Thank you for reading!
