New Additions to My Makeup Collection – Drugstore & Highend

Hello makeup lovers! I hope 2018 has been treating you well so far! I still have 2 weeks off until I go back to school but until then, I’m having a great year! Today I wanted to make a post all about the new makeup that I have added to my collection. There’s only four things but I still wanted to share them with you guys! So, if you’re interested in seeing what all I got, just keep reading!

The first product that I’m so happy I found at my local drugstore is the Flower Cosmetics Mix N‘ Matte Lip Duo in Honey Nude ($9.33). This brand isn’t very talked about. I only really hear anything about their blending sponge that I reviewed here. Drew Barrymore, which is the creator of the brand, has recently revamped it and come out with many new products. I saw Casey Holmes review it on her youtube channel and decided to try it out myself! This compact is dual ended and comes with one side a matte lipstick and the other side a gloss (that smells like cupcakes btw). Both are very creamy and pigmented.

Above is what each side looks like. I have to say, this is probably the most comfortable drugstore, cruelty free lipstick that I own. It is a great nude for my skin tone and it stays on for hours while eating/drinking. It doesn’t turn crusty around the inside of my lips either. I think this is a great product because of its duo factors. Some days I just want a matte lip and some days a glossy lip. Combining the lipstick and the lipgloss makes it last for so long. I’m really happy that I got this product!

Next is the only high end product in the products. This is the It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream with SPF 50+ ($38). I put in my current makeup wish list here that I really wanted this foundation. I did a lot of research and got help from a blog post that you can read here that really made me understand the difference between physical and chemical SPF. I realized that I was breaking out because I kept using products with chemical SPF instead of physical. So, when I saw that this foundation had GREAT reviews (literally 10,000 reviews on Ulta with 4.5 stars), I knew I had to try it out.

I got a little sample size in Sephora 2 weeks ago and I went through it very quickly because I was trying out this foundation and wearing it everyday.  After Christmas, I got a couple gift cards and was able to buy this foundation pretty cheaply. As you can see, the shade matches me really well. I wish they would expand their shade range because I know my skin tone is not the lightest out there. Other than that, this works really well on my skin. It keeps a nice glow to my skin all day while covering up my dry patches/acne pretty well. I do have to put 2 layers on some problem areas but mostly, my skin looks really great with this foundation on!

The second drugstore item is this NYX Slide On Lip Pencil in Brick House ($7.99). I really needed a deep red lip liner to go with my favorite holiday red lip I talked about here so I figured this would be a great, affordable one. I definitely prefer gel pencils over wooden pencils because I feel like wooden pencils break easier on me even if I don’t press too hard. So, I decided to try this one out and I’m really liking it. It is very creamy and  glides on the lips easily while making a straight line.

Lastly, this is the Milani Baked Blush in Berry Amore ($7.99). I have looked at these probably 20 times and finally bought one. Many people have heard of the infamous Luminoso blush from Milani but I really wanted to try something other than a peachy blush. To be honest, I have enough of those. I decided to try a more berry tone with some bronzey glitter and I really like it! My only issue is that it might be a little… too pigmented? I am always afraid that I will put too much blush on so I’m definitely gonna have to be careful here. I do love the color and feel of it so I hope I continue to have good luck with it!

Alright, that’s it for my newest products! I always love writing about hauls that I do because what’s better than new makeup?! I hope that you enjoyed reading! Let me know what products you’ve been loving recently! Please like and subscribe!

I want to try the It Cosmetics CC cream but I hate ordering things like that if I can’t shade test first :/ I’ve been loving a Bare Minerals BB Primer but using it on it’s own rather than under foundation. Just takes the edge off of my ‘Im in a rush’ face 😛 Great post xx
