What’s on My Makeup Wish List?

I’m so excited to write this post because what does everyone love the most? Products on our wish lists! They’re the things we want most but either don’t want to fork out the money for or things we already have enough of! Both of these factors are what make up my wish list! There are new products added to the Just Arrived section at Sephora and Ulta basically every DAY. My wish list changes often but these are products that have stuck around for awhile. If you’re interested in seeing my wish list, just keep on reading!

The first product and most recently added to my list is the Huda Beauty Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette in Smokey Obsessions ($27). I first saw these on Instagram and was immediately drawn to this one. Though I usually go for the warm tones, I think this one has beautiful shimmers and enough mattes to make a good amount of looks. I know that one of the biggest surprises is that it’s smaller than usual. It apparently fits in your palm. I think that is perfect for traveling considering you can make everyday looks with this all the way to dark, smokey looks, hence the name “Smokey.” The swatches of these are STUNNING. I feel like I would get a lot of use of out this palette. I actually think the price on it is pretty reasonable. It equals out to be $3 a shade. You get a lot of product in each pan so I can definitely see this as worth it.

Next up is a product that I probably don’t even need to introduce. It’s the infamous Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Opal ($38). You can probably guess why I don’t own this product yet. $38!!! I just can’t justify that. I know that it would last a long time and it would be used basically every day, but still. I could get multiple drugstore products for that price. I’m hoping they’ll go on sale sometime soon. These highlighters are just a classic in everyone’s collection. They’re buttery, pigmented, and blinding. Isn’t that what most people want in a highlight? I love how diverse the collection is too. There is even a white shade that is for the fairest of the fair. I love champagne tones and this is exactly it. Once I get through a couple highlighters that I already own, I’ll probably end up purchasing this as my one and only highlighter. I love it more and more every time I swatch it!

This is the Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black perfume ($85). My favorite youtube, Kathleen Lights, recommended this and I immediately went to Sephora to try it out. I love it everything from the scent to the packaging. Sephora’s website says it is “warm and spicy,” “woody spices,” and the notes are violet, sandalwood, and vanilla. I typically like musky scents, not fruity or flowery like typical perfumes. I just don’t feel like those work as well for me. Nirvana Black is a perfect mix and I think the vanilla in it makes it feminine. Plus, Elizabeth and James is cruelty free! All of the products on my list are cruelty free, but I didn’t know perfumes could be cruelty free as well. I highly recommend going to your local Sephora and trying this perfume out!

A foundation that I’ve been eyeing for awhile is the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50 in Fair ($38). I’ve read many reviews about this and a lot of people like it as an every day type of product. Some days I really don’t feel like putting on a full face of makeup and putting in all that effort. This happens often while in college! My only worry about this foundation is that it has SPF. Usually, SPF breaks me out. It clogs up my pores and causes acne, unfortunately. Maybe my skin has changed since it’s been years since I’ve used a product with SPF in it. I’ve heard that it layers really well on acne and still doesn’t look cakey. Another plus is that you get a little bit more than the usual standard ounce. I have multiple foundations so I’ll have to go through a couple before I buy this but it is up on my list!

Next is the Peter Thomas Roth Meet Your Mask Kit ($25). I am a mask-lover; I love them all. There’s a mask for anything: hydrating, smoothing, calming, anti-red, etc. They’re amazing! I have heard great things about the Peter Thomas Roth brand but most of their masks are suuuuuper expensive if you buy just one specific mask. I figured this kit would be a great way to try out the brand in a cheaper way. The ones I’m mainly interested in are the Cucumber Gel and Irish Moor Mud masks. The Cucumber Gel mask is supposed to “soothe, hydrate, and detoxify dry, irritated skin.” The Irish Moor Mud mask is “purifying, decongesting, and hydrating mask with odorless Irish moor mud to draw out dirt, oil, and impurities as it infuses skin with moisture and vitamins.” I had this on my wish list last year and I believe I might actually go for it this year!

Above are the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Collection in Dim Infusion ($38) and Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Nude Bronze Light ($50). As you can see, these are VERY expensive. The whole brand is known for being that way. They are also known to have great quality. Their Vanish Stick Foundation is some of the best stuff out there. If I ever actually bought these items, they would basically have to transform my skin. I couldn’t justify that amount of money any other way. The Dim Infusion blush looks like a great peach shade with a little bronze to it, which is what I love in bronzers. I think peach-toned colors work great with my skin tone. I chose the Nude Bronze Light because it will give a little shine to the skin but also give color to it. It also says that it is perfect for fair/light complexions which is me. I just can’t process the price!

Lastly, this is the Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Scandalust ($49). I have swatched these palettes every time I go into Sephora (which is a lot) and I fall in love more and more each time. They are so creamy and pigmented. I just can’t get myself to pay almost $50 for SEVEN eyeshadows! I either want this palette or the Glambition palette which is all neutral shades. I know I’d use either of these palettes basically every day. There’s just something about having a couple high end products in my collection that entices me. Marc Jacobs is one of the few high end brands that is cruelty free so if I can support them in any way, I will!

That’s it for my makeup wish list! Thank you for reading! I have so much fun making these lists because it’s all about the products that I want in the future. Let me know what’s on your wish list for this holiday season!

  1. I want those masks as well! I wouldn’t worry about the spf in It Cosmetics because it’s a physical spf. I used chemical spf’s in the past, and they always broke me out. Physical spf’s don’t and they’re better for you! I use the CC cream and I love it!

  2. I soooo highly recommend the It Cosmetics CC Cream!! It really is a dream on your skin, I’ve been using it for a while and haven’t had any breakouts yet, and SPF’s usually get to me too! You have awesome products on your wishlist!

    1. I’ve gotten so many recommendations for it, it must be as great as it sounds! I’m definitely picking it up the next time I go! Since it didn’t break you out, it hopefully won’t break me out either! And thank you! Xx
