Today I’ll be coming at you with a review on two products that are both under $6! As most of you know, I try to mainly talk about drugstore priced products on my blog. Everyone likes to save money but what’s even better is when the quality of a cheaper product feels high-end! I bought both of these products at Ulta and as of right now, L.A. Girl is Buy One Get One Free! I highly recommend checking them out if you want drugstore priced products that seem very high-end. If you’re interested in seeing my review on the products I picked up, just keep reading!
This product is one that I was so excited to see in stores. It is the L.A. Girl Eye Lux Eyeshadow Quad in Eternalize ($5.99). I have been searching for a nice mauve color that wasn’t too red or pink. This quad has the perfect shade! I’ve already worn this product many times and have never been disappointed. If I am ever having issues coming up with an eye look, I go straight to this. It has it all laid out for you! Set down your primer with the white shade, put the lighter mauve shade in the crease, apply the shimmer shade to the lid, and deepen up the outer corner with the darker mauve shade. I love it! I often feel like red eyeshadows make me look tired but this palette is perfect for me and my green eyes! They have many different color combos of these palettes: blues, browns, and cool tones.
I think the swatches explain themselves. They are SO PIGMENTED. They are extremely soft and creamy. They blend easily and the color payoff is exactly the shade in the pan. I love the uniqueness of this palette and the shape of it as well. It’s easy to travel with and not have to worry about it taking up too much space. These are very comparable to some more expensive eyeshadows but for more than half the price. I can’t wait to try more of these!
The second product I picked up is the L.A. Girl Double D Mascara ($5.99). I was on the hunt for a mascara that would mainly separate and lengthen my lashes. I don’t really care for volume. I almost bought the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara and then I came across the L.A. Girl section. This one looked promising because it literally says “separates and coats lashes” on the front. I would MUCH rather pay $5.99 than $23 if I can get the same effect. So I put back the Too Faced one and got the L.A. Girl one. I really really like this mascara. It does exactly what it says it will: separates and lengthens. I like how the bristles are very compact so it gets every lash. Plus, a big bonus is that it dries quickly on the lashes. I love that because it won’t transfer onto my eyeshadow or under my eyes and make me look like I have a black eye by the end of the day. I have been using this mascara for about two weeks and choose it over most of my other mascaras already. It’s a very easy go-to for me. You can’t beat the price either!
Overall, I love my picks from L.A. Girl! I am really interested in trying more from this brand and seeing what they come out with. Their price points are perfect and quality is great. I can definitely see it becoming one of my top favorite drugstore brands once I try more from them. I highly recommend trying them out. Tell me what you think if you do! Have you tried anything from L.A. Girl before? Let me know! Thanks for reading!
