New Additions to My Lipstick Collection (ABH, Buxom, Kokie, etc)

Hello makeup lovers! I have (un)fortunately made 3 trips to Ulta in the past week. As you guys know, Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty sale is going on. This sale + my weakness for lipsticks = my bank account being drained. I don’t regret it though! This post is basically going to be a mini review of each lipstick that I got within the past week. I have worn all of these at least twice, some more than that. Overall, I am very happy with my newest additions! If you’d like to see what lipsticks I bought and my mini review on them, just keep reading!

These are the swatches of the lipsticks that I bought. I will be talking about them in the order that they are swatched so you can get an accurate picture!

These are the Kokie Cosmetics Kissable Matte Liquid Lipsticks. They are a mousse-like formula that is very comfortable. This is a new brand at Walmart that I was introduced to by a friend. I am so happy that she told me about them! I have a review coming soon on their contouring palette that looks like an exact dupe for the Kat Von D one. Back to the lipsticks, these are only $6!! The darker nude shade is called Sublime and the lighter peachy pink one is called Less is More. There are so many shades available too. I put the shade Less is More on at 9 am and took it off around 5 pm. I ate and drank while wearing it and it stayed on surprisingly well. My lips felt a little dry towards the end but because the weather has been cold one day and then hot the next, they have been a little dehydrated anyway. It was overall very comfortable and I do recommend them as a good drugstore lipstick and brand as a whole!

My third lipstick of the week is the Bare Minerals Gen Nude Liquid Lipstick in XYZ. Because of the Ulta sale, instead of $19, these are $13! I knew I had to pick one up. I really love this shade, especially with fall coming up. I know I have many lipsticks that are very similar to this shade, but like I said, I am a lipstick addict! This lipstick formula is also very mousse-like. I am typically drawn to lipsticks with this type of formula because of how comfortable they are. This lipstick had a little less wear-time than the Kokie ones. This one faded a little bit quicker. It is still very nice to just throw on for a couple of hours for a natural kind of look. I would consider this to be a “your lips but better” kind of shade. It is just a darker natural lip color. I really prefer these colors for fall makeup looks because of how many looks they pair well with. If you want to try these out, I suggest doing that now with the Ulta sale going on!

This is the 4th newest addition and it is the Buxom Plumpline Lip Liner in Hush Hush. These are originally $17, I got mine for $8.50. I was really interested in these because of the concept. They are a chubbier lip pencil with a brush on the end to blend it out. This makes it really easy to do an ombre lip. I have to say, wearing this alone can be very drying. I typically will wear this under a lip gloss to add some hydration. I still love the color and I know I will get a lot of use out of it. I have not sharpened it yet, so I am unsure if it is easy to sharpen. The application is very smooth and the color pay off is great. The only issue is the dryness after a couple of hours, which can be fixed by a lip balm before application or a lip gloss on top!

This is the final lipstick that I bought. It is the new Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipstick in Spice ($18). I have been very interested in these since they came out earlier this summer. This shade is SO pigmented. You really don’t have to build the color to get full pigment. It is also very easy to line your lips with the tip of the lipstick. After about 6 hours, the shade starts to fade in the inner part of my lips, but it is very easy to reapply. It is a very smooth application and I love this shade SO much. I really can’t say enough good things about this product. I honestly don’t think $18 is too much for these. And can we talk about the packaging?! The gold bottom and A symbol is just gorgeous. It makes me happy just looking at it! There are so many gorgeous shades of this lipstick, I had a hard time deciding which one I should get! I really love this product and will likely buy more in the future!

Thank you for reading! I had a lot of fun writing this post just because of how big my love for lipstick is. It’s my favorite part of makeup! I am pretty much all stocked up on lipstick for the rest of the year, hopefully. Don’t be surprised if I buy more though. What are your thoughts on these lipsticks? Have you tried any before? Let me know!
