July Favorites 2017

It is time for my July favorites! I know it’s a little late but oh well. I always enjoy reading other people’s monthly favorites; it’s so fun to see what everyone is loving and using! If you want to see what I’ve been using this month, just keep reading!

The summertime is all about being bronzed, at least for me! I love adding a lot of warmth to the skin considering I don’t tan easily on my face. This is the Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer in Light ($14.99). This is a cult favorite for a lot of beauty lovers. I have had this bronzer since September of 2016. It lasts a very long time since I use it every day! Once I run out, I will probably buy the darker shade to be even more bronzed. In the swatch above, it looks a little too light for me in the summer. I really recommend this bronzer if you have more of a lighter skin tone. Unfortunately, Physician’s Formula does not cater to people with darker skin tones. That’s the major downfall but I do think they are working on it with their blushes.

I love this palette so much! This is the Lorac x Pirates of the Caribbean Cheek Palette ($30). This was a limited edition palette that I thought was gorgeous. It is very travel friendly! It comes with four highlighters, a blush, and one sort of tan shade that I either use as a tan blush or a topper for my bronzer. This is the first face palette that I have seen that I can actually use all of the colors in it. The darker pink highlighting shade is a little too dark to highlight with but I can use it as an eyeshadow and it’s gorgeous. This palette is very pigmented. it’s very easy to just throw on and go for the hot summer days!

I have recently fallen in love with the Essence brand. They have great stuff for really cheap prices! I heard of this highlighter from Kathleen Lights’ youtube. This is the Essence Pure Nude Highlighter in Be My Highlight 01 ($4.49). I am obsessed with this highlighter! It’s not too gold or too pink. It’s the perfect mix! You can build it up to be super intense or just as a nice sheen to the skin. This highlighter stays on all day. Yes, all day! I have used this every day for about a month and it doesn’t even look like I have touched it. It’s very compact and I really like the packaging. For the price, I think everyone should try this out!

I have really been liking peachy toned lipsticks this month. They look so summery and I love it! I own quite a bit of peach colored lipsticks but these are my favorites. On the left is the Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Zurich ($6.49) and on the right is the Alexis Ren x ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip in Bare Necessities ($6.00). They both have very similar formulas. The Nyx lip cream has a little more of a mousse like texture because it is a cream. The ColourPop lippie stays on forever; it is one of my favorite formulas ever. Also, ColourPop is going to be sold in Sephora towards the end of the year!! Isn’t that amazing? I thought they would choose Ulta because of their cheaper prices and more affordable brands but oh well. It’ll be so nice to be able to swatch products now! Back to the post, I really like both of these lipsticks. They are affordable and comfortable on the lip. I try to do more hydrating lipsticks in the summer and more matte in the winter. These colors go with a lot of my go-to summer looks and that’s why I prefer them the most!

Like I said above, I have really been enjoying the Essence brand lately. I wish I had tried them sooner to be honest! This is the Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara ($4.99). I love this stuff! I am not a big false lash fan. They always get in the way of my glasses! I had seem some reviews on youtube of this mascara and I figured why not? It’s only $5! This is so easy to put on if I’m in a hurry. It gives so much volume and length to my lashes. It can get clumpy on the lower lash line, but I have just started to use a different mascara for that. Essence has a couple different mascaras that I plan to try once I finish this one. This has quickly become my favorite mascara, even over my It Cosmetics Superhero one!

Thank you for reading! All of these products have been my go-to’s for July. What have been some of your faves? Are you going to try any of these products that I’ve listed? Let me know!

Thanks for sharing!! Is the essence pure nude highlighter more of a cream or powder finish? I’ve been wanting to try the butter bronzer since there is so much hype, but I’m too tan for it in the summer so maybe it’s a better winter bronzer on me haha. This month I’ve been loving the Sephora beauty amplifier primer and benefit’s Watt’s App highlighter πŸ™‚

It’s powder but it’s so soft that it feels like a cream once on the skin! It is very easy to get product onto my brush; I love it! I do think the butter bronzer is more of a winter bronzer for deeper skin tones, just make sure you get the original shade and not the lighter version! I have never tried that primer! Does it add a glow to the skin? I have always wanted to try the watt’s app highlighter, just never gotten around to it! Thank you for commenting! I love hearing others’ thoughts xx

Oo great thanks for the info! I saw the Pure Nude highlighter in the store the other day (they used not really sell Essence in American stores but that’s now changing). The primer is not super dewy or glowy but it does a really good job of smoothing skin and making the rest of my face makeup look flawless (similar formula to the Smashbox photo finish or ELF mineral infused primer) πŸ™‚
